About EAR Organization
Rural areas are at the highest risk of rabies contractions due to their constant more frequent interactions with wildlife (mainly stray dogs) and the lack of convenient access to clinics that can provide vaccination for this disease. Furthermore, there is a shortage of vaccines available to the countries as a whole because of their costly price. The severity of rabies is often overlooked by many persons leaving them susceptible to contracting the disease because of their lack of education.
The Education and Action for Rabies (EAR) Organization aim to remedy these issues through education to solicit support for persons worldwide. We intend to develop a game that spreads awareness and educates people on this issue while simultaneously teaching safety measures in these high-risk areas to prevent the contraction of the disease as a whole. Additionally, through education, we intend to raise funds from organizations and the general public which will be used for mass-free distribution of vaccines in these high-risk areas and to develop an oral vaccine that will be more economical than the current injection method. The website will allow students and other individuals around the world to volunteer as contributors to our organization to aid in its aim to advocate the eradication of rabies and through the game as a means of support for those who may not have the financial resources to donate.
